Personality:
One of the first things that needs mentioning about Sharon’s personality is that she is a person with a deep sense of love and commitment. This might seem strange, given that she is a machine but empathy and compassion are at the core of her “programmed” personality. The reasons behind this design choice are largely unknown, though. Regardless. Sharon’s introduction was as a Cylon impersonating Sharon Valerii, another Number Eight, with the intent of seducing a human named Karl Agathon as part of a breeding experiment. Instead, she fell in love with Karl and ended up becoming pregnant, and as a result things shifted for her. She demonstrates countless acts of love and compassion throughout Battlestar Galactica, turning on the Cylons and joining with the Colonial military to help them with intelligence and open aid against her kind. Her affection extends not only to Karl (who she marries) and her daughter Hera, but also to the crew of Galactica. She forms tight bonds with the other pilots and Admiral Adama, maintains good relations with the majority of the human crew and is in general very devoted to helping. She gives up everything she has for love, both for Karl and for the crew of Galactica, throwing her life on the line as a pilot routinely, and even serving as an occasional “conscience” to Admiral Adama.
A further note on love, Sharon loves her daughter with all her heart. Hera is a driving force behind Sharon’s motivation throughout the series. She even kills herself to download into a new body to rescue Hera, braving danger and risking everything for the child. There is nothing she won’t do for her child, and her love for her husband is nearly as strong, though her strong maternal instinct would probably force her to choose Hera over Karl in any sort of “Sophie’s Choice” situation.
Commitment is another important part of Sharon’s personality. Unlike other Eights, she states over and over that she made a choice and she’ll stick with it. During the later parts of the series, she’s asked by several Eights to help them rebel and she tells them that they need to pick a side and stick with it. She states flatly that she finds them disgusting and weak, and that until they can make a choice and stay with it even through the hard times that they’ll never amount to much of anything. When her loyalty is questioned, she grows quite heated and moody, occasionally even lashing out at people around her, Karl included.
Sharon’s main flaw is her self-destructive tendencies. There are times when she grows violently angry, flying into a rage and hurting herself (Often if Hera is threatened). This casts a great deal of suspicion on her at times, and she knows it and states that she doesn’t care. Other Eights are shown to have near suicidal moments, and it’s conceivable that Sharon could as well, as they all have similar “core” personalities. Late in the series these show up again as severe depression, where she grows so despondent over the loss of her child (who’d been stolen by another Eight called Boomer), that she could barely walk, ignoring everything around her and in general having difficulty functioning as a person without help.
Another difficulty for her is her temper. Sharon is capable of both hot anger and cold, calculating fury, and she’s not got the tightest leash on it at times. She’s quick to speak her mind, making cutting remarks to her husband, other crewman, and other Cylons. When she finds out that President Rosalin had stolen and hidden Hera, Sharon freaked out, naturally. She threatened the president and exploded at Adama in a display of her hot side. The cold side comes out when the people she loves are threatened. After a series of visions where a Number Six model is shown taking Hera from her, Sharon guns down the Six in cold blood saying “You will never have my child.” And that’s over just a vision. Later, after the Eight known as Boomer steals Hera, beats Sharon near to death, and seduces Karl she again shows that cold side when she confronts Boomer. Boomer had saved the child’s life, but Sharon still shot her. Not to say she’s a cold blooded killer but she has a definite sense of wrath.
Faith is a trait Sharon also possesses, and it’s both good and bad. She frequently has visions that she believes come from the Cylon God and makes frequent references to God and God’s plan. It’s not as common or frequent as other Cylon models, but there is a definite faithfulness inherent in Sharon’s personality. She quite clearly fears God’s anger, and is a deeply religious person despite being relatively private about it. Sharon’s faith is the quiet sort compared to other Cylons, without the ravings of a zealot like Leoben or the evangelical mysticism of Diana and Caprica Six. She believes, and mentions it occasionally, and swears to God instead of Gods (meaning the Lords of Kobol, the main faith of the Colonial humans) when she’s making an exclamation. The reasons why are, again, shrouded by the lost motives of the Final Five Cylons, but it’s a trait that runs strong, if under the surface.
Finally, Sharon has a strong need for acceptance, and not just as a member of Galactica’s crew. Very, very often she’s referred to as a Toaster or a Non-Person and this upsets her quite clearly. Several times she gets into shouting matches with her husband because she’s feeling stressed and pressured and treated like some sort of sub-species. It’s a trigger, and one reason why she’ll actively conceal her non-human nature when she can. In a lot of ways Sharon wants to be human, or at least treated like one, but she doesn’t struggle against her nature like the Eight called Boomer. She’s a Cylon who wants to be accepted for what she’s done, not what she is, for doing her duty as a Raptor pilot and for putting herself on the line for the Colonials and Galactica.
Powers/Abilities:
Sharon is not human. She’s a Cylon, an organic machine that’s been engineered for a purpose. She has a lot of human like qualities, such as bleeding and having guts and such, but the “skinjobs” have a lot more going for them than normal folks. They’re fast, incredibly strong, and don’t get tired easily. Not Superman level, but strong enough to bend steel with their bare hands or lift a motorcycle, quick enough to outrun a moving car over a short distance, and with enough stamina to function in high energy situations for hours. Cylons can also directly wire into machines, though this is an *incredibly* painful process as it requires direct physical lines, meaning they need to cut into their own skin to get at wires too. Finally, Cylons are immune to many normal diseases, though some do exist that can afflict them as well. The same goes for radiation, it doesn’t affect them the same way it does humans.
Aside from that, Sharon’s quick witted, intelligent, and has an extremely high pain tolerance. She’s also a skilled pilot, a good survivalist, a decent tracker, and a crackshot with a gun due to her role as a scout, typically loaded aboard a Raptor scout/bombercraft. She also has a working knowledge of demolitions, needed for her work with explosives on a Raptor.
Possessions:
A sidearm and rifle, both stowed in her ship, a handful of Caprican coins, a couple of medkits and her flight uniform, plus whatever salvage comes from her wrecked ship.
Arrival:
I’d like for Sharon to crashland in a Raptor after a random FTL jump.

With a growl deep in her throat, Sharon yanked hard on the flight stick, hurling the Raptor into a wide roll. The little ship howled in frustration, metal groaning as she coaxed it into a role it was never meant to fill. Blood pounded in her ears as she thought frantically how to get herself out of this mess. Where-ever that blind jump had taken her, it was definitely not friendly territory, and the planet she’d made landfall was even less so. Whatever it was tracking her was good, the strange and somewhat dated looking atmospheric fightercraft definitely had her for speed, she knew, but she had it on armor, guns, and sheer tech level. Whoever these “USAF” guys were, they weren’t doing a great job of jamming her transmissions, but frak they were just so…primitive!
Jamming back on the thrusters, she shot backwards and put herself behind the target, now and sent out a warning call.
“I don’t want to fire, but I will if you don’t back the frak off,” she grunted into the receiver only to be met with static. The airplane in front of her tried juking, but she matched it easily, keeping up with it almost effortlessly. Instincts screamed at her to shoot, end the threat and leave, but she just couldn’t. Something about this wasn’t right, like it was a bad idea or that shooting down the other pilot would have dire consequences for Galactica. And she tended to trust that feeling, so clamping down on the reflex to fill her attacker with holes wasn’t terrible difficult. Instead, she accelerated into a sharp climb and slammed down on the throttle, climbing so fast that the…whatever it was…wouldn’t be able to follow, and without some sort of DRAYDIS she was willing to bet it couldn’t track her through the clouds.
“God, what…is going on? Where the FRAK am I?!” she shouted in frustration, slamming her gloved hands into the dash. A million questions ran through her mind, who were these people, why had they attacked her, how was she going to explain this when she got home, and…was this Earth? That question stuck out most. Obvious signs of sentient life with somewhat advanced technology, a habitable world in a remote region of space, and…other human or humanlike beings? Had she really been that lucky? Or was this God’s plan all along?
